Matt Harrington

New Business Development Officer and Partner
Matt is an experienced business operator and entrepreneur with a robust history of working in the health, wellness and fitness industry. He is skilled in customer service, sales, strategic planning, construction project management and marketing strategy. He is currently the New Business Development Officer at First Fitness, and previously the President and Founder of GymIt. Matt has served on the Board for the New England Racquet and Sports Club Association. Matt has a degree from Colby College and an MBA from the Sloan School of Management at MIT. Gary Klencheski

President & Partner
Gary serves as the President of First Fitness Management. He served as a Vice President of Town Sports International at Town Sports International from 2013 to 2015. He founded Fitcorp in 1979 and served as its Chief Executive Officer and President from 1979 to 2013.  Prior to that, he served as a Fitness Director of Old Colony YMCA’s. Gary played an active role with the International Health, Racquet, and Sports Club Association serving as the President of the New England Association and a Board Member on the International level. He has served on numerous committees and boards, including the Massachusetts Governor’s Committee on Fitness and Sports, the Massachusetts Arthritis Foundation, Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce and the American College and Sports Medicine Health Club Guidelines Policy Board. He has over 35 years of experience working with companies to address the prevention of lifestyle-related illnesses of employees. He holds a M.Ed. from Springfield College and a B.A. from Tufts University.

Andrea Goldstone

Operations Manager
Andrea brings over 15 years of experience in the corporate fitness industry. She presently serves as Operations Manager for First Fitness. Andrea was a collegiate athlete graduating from Skidmore College in 2002 with a BS in Exercise Science. Andrea began her career with Fitcorp in 2003 as a Personal Trainer, moving on to Client Service Manager and Center Manager roles. Andrea has worked closely with over 75 companies establishing and planning employee wellness initiatives designed to help reach the full spectrum of employee population. Her passion for health and fitness, coupled with a friendly approach, has helped many employees adopt positive lifestyle changes.

Mark Harrington, Jr.

Partner
Mark Harrington Jr. is President of Healthworks Fitness Centers for Women, President and Co-Founder of Republic Fitness, and Co-Founder of GymIt and First Fitness Management.  Along with Healthworks Community Fitness, the five brands are collectivity known as Healthworks Group. With a total of 14 locations, Healthworks Group is the largest local family-owned fitness company in Boston, MA.  Together its brands serve over 30,000 members and employ over 600 talented fitness professionals.  The five brands provide a full spectrum of offerings consisting of low price/high volume, premium women’s only, premium co-ed, managed sites, and non-profit community wellness.  Since joining Healthworks Group in 2010, Mark has been instrumental in the company’s growth, emphasizing its mission and core values and utilizing technology to improve efficiency and operations. Prior to Healthworks Group, Mark was a Project Manager at Exeter Group for nearly ten years; there he oversaw the development and completion of large scale IT projects.  Mark graduated from Middlebury College with a B.A. in Computer Science. He currently resides in Winchester, MA with his wife and two young daughters.

Mark Harrington

Mark Harrington Sr followed his entrepreneurial spirit and passion by founding Healthworks Fitness Centers in 1979.   Along the way, Mark had a parallel career in Commercial Real Estate as a Partner and Sr Vice president at JMB Realty. Mark managed the Leasing Department overseeing 100,000,000 Sq. Ft of Retail Space throughout North America.  Healthworks is a noted Global Leader in Women’s Health and Fitness serving over 12,000 Women in the Boston area. Additionally, the Healthworks Group has expanded into a Premium Co-Ed brand with Republic Fitness in the Boston Financial District as well as GymIt, a promotional co-ed brand featuring clubs in the metro Boston area. The Healthworks Group also operates Non-Profit fitness centers in the inner city under the Brand, Healthworks Community Fitness, serving over 1,500 members in the Dorchester area. Healthworks Community Fitness recently received the Mayor’s Award for Innovative Health Care.  In total the Healthworks Group serves over 30,000 members in the Greater Boston Area.  Mark graduated from the University of Miami with a B.A. in Economics.

Mike Lavoie

Chief Financial Officer
Mike serves as the CFO for First Fitness Management.  In addition, he also serves as the CFO for the Healthworks Group.   Mike has a M.S. in Computer Information Systems from Bentley College, a M.B.A. from Babson College and a B.S, in Accounting from the University of Massachusetts.
